Musical Performance

Principia College life is filled with music, from our Concert and Lecture Series, ensemble concerts, and Music at Davis performance series, to the Rainwater Carillon Concert Series on the Chapel Green, Sunday Evening Sing at the Chapel, and informal jazz on the pub patio.

Learn more about Music

Music at Davis

Music at Davis is a series dedicated to students in applied lessons, chamber ensembles, and occasionally for featuring visiting professionals. Students and faculty perform for the campus during the semester in preparation for recitals and campus events.

College Ensembles

College Ensembles are open to the whole Principia community and programs include a wide variety of styles, languages, and genres of repertoire to reflect the diversity of culture at Principia. Ensembles are also invited to perform at campus events and perform in collaboration with musical groups off campus, including with the Great Rivers Choral Society, Gateway Big Band, and for community events.

Concert and Lecture Series

Our Concert and Lecture Series regularly hosts highly-recognized performers and ensembles in a variety of genres at the College campus for students to experience professional-caliber performance.  Past guests have included Grammy-winning a cappella group, Room Full of Teeth, twice Grammy-winning organist, Dr. Jan Kraybill, Van Cliburn finalist, Dr. Lindsay Garritson, George and Charles Clements, the St. Petersburg Chamber Orchestra, and others.
